The Manitoba educational landscape will be enriched with a new and unique college for all young girls from Grade 7 and 8 as early as September 2009. This college will be teaching philosophy, allowing students to learn to navigate in this complex world of ours and to solve the daily life problems they encounter. The college will provide them with an integrated and harmonious education based on strong well founded human values. In short, students will learn to be responsible leaders of tomorrow. Muslims attending the school will have access to Islamic studies. Besides offering philosophy and the Manitoba curriculum, the school will have three languages of instruction: Arabic, English and Français. Collège Sofiya’s mission is to become truly intercultural and interfaith, attracting students from all walks of life. The school is presently situated inside the Dakota Community Center, in south St. Vital, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
